Asian Consulting Group Founding Chairman Mon Abrea joined as one of the speakers at the Business Day of the Filipino-Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. The event was the second day of a five-day mentorship program attended by Filipino-American delegates.
The entire program was held from November 24 to 29, 2019, with a different focus for each day, such as Arts and Culture, Government, and Business. The FYLPRO Business Day was held at Ayala Tower One, Makati City from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The delegates for the FYLPRO are chosen from among outstanding Filipino-American professionals, to give them the opportunity to engage with various Filipino leaders and to connect with the community.
The tax expert discussed the state of doing business in the Philippines, especially focusing on the World Bank’s recently-released Doing Business 2020 report.
Given his specialty, the Philippine Tax Whiz Mon Abrea also gave an overview of the tax reform in the Philippines, remarking on how a genuine reform can help the Philippines improve their scores further. He discussed the TRAIN Law, the Tax Amnesty Act, and the upcoming packages of the tax reform such as the CITIRA Bill, the increase in sin taxes, and more.
To top the day off, the delegates and speakers of the day attended a mixer hosted by the Ayala Young Leaders Congress.
In its push to improve the ease of paying taxes in the Philippines, the Asian Consulting Group has also engaged in a digital transformation. In fact, ACG will be launching two ways of improving the taxpayer experience through technology on December 13, 2019 – the TaxWhizPH Mobile App and the Tax Whiz Channel.
