The Asian Consulting Group turned eight on September 26, Thursday. Held at the ACG Tax Hub, 9F The Ignacia Place, Quezon City, the celebration was attended by its celebrity ambassadors, partners, directors, and stockholders.
Started by the Philippine Tax Whiz Mon Abrea, ACG began with an idea of addressing the rampant corruption of the tax system. To address this corruption, Abrea sought to guide taxpayers by encouraging them to pay the right taxes and increasing their own voluntary compliance.
Since the start of its operations, ACG has helped its partners save millions from unnecessary penalties and compromises.
As a social enterprise, tax reform remains foremost of ACG’s advocacies. Another of ACG’s goals is to be the Philippines’ Tax Hub for SMEs in the Asia-Pacific.
In the words of its Founding Chairman, “A tax hub is a place where anyone is free to ask questions or learn more about taxes. It could be through books, consultations, or other reference materials. It’s where people can collaborate and learn.”
Creating a place of learning is in line with ACG’s other advocacy of tax education.
Pursuing this goal, ACG has expanded its operations throughout the country by opening satellite offices in Vigan, Albay, Laguna, Bacolod, and Puerto Princesa. At each satellite office, the company has launched its signature Tax Hub Talks – a regular seminar which covers a variety of topics from taxes to personal finance.
In 2019, the Asian Consulting Group turned its eyes on the digital space as a means of broadening its reach.
“For advocacies to be sustainable, it’s important to make use of technology or, specifically, the digital space,” said Abrea. “The internet, especially social media, is accessible to everyone, so for a social enterprise like ACG whose advocacy is tax education, getting the right information out there is crucial.”
“We can already communicate through technology, so why shouldn’t we communicate information the same way?” the tax expert added.
At its anniversary, ACG announced that it will be digitizing its services to give a better experience. One of its planned innovations is the TaxWhizPH Mobile App, which will allow taxpayers to file their returns and pay their taxes anytime and anywhere.
ACG’s means of promoting its advocacy of tax education will be continued in the digital space as it announces plans to launch of its very own Tax Whiz Channel.
With these new step toward digital transformation, the Asian Consulting Group fully embraces its new status as a tax tech solutions firm.
