The Tax Whiz Academy, in partnership with the Center for Strategic Reforms of the Philippines (CSR Philippines) launched its monthly Tax Hub Talks on Friday, March 22. The event covered a variety of topics such as doing business, starting a business and, the Tax Hub’s specialty, taxes.
The event was sponsored by Pizza Pedricos and Mix and Brew Coffee.
Before the Tax Hub Talk’s discussions began, the Asian Consulting Group’s tax experts opened with an ITR filing helpdesk.
DTI Competitiveness and Ease of Doing Business Group Program Manager Faisah dela Rosa led the first discussion. The government representative talked about the strategy to improve the government’s score in terms of the ease of doing business.
After, a talk show between the three speakers were held to discuss their respective topics. The Philippine Tax Whiz Mon Abrea discussed how to file returns and pay taxes on April 15, celebrity entrepreneur Bea Binene talked about starting a business, and Mr. Faisah dela Rosa answered questions about his topic.
After the moderated discussion, the attendees were also free to raise their concerns.
“Ano nga ba’ng meron sa April 15?” asked the attendees of the event. This is in cooperation with the initiatives of one of the Tax Hub Talks organizers, CSR Philippines. In its #April15Challenge, the non-profit organization aims to promote the importance of the date.
Those who know the right answer to what’s on April 15 can join in and share CSR Philippines’ video about the April 15 Challenge and use their answer as the caption. Alternatively, those interested can help the non-profit organization’s initiative by taking a video of themselves asking the question, “Ano nga ba’ng meron sa April 15?”
