TRAIN with Thomson Reuters & Asian Legal Business

May 23, 2018—Yesterday, the Asian Consulting Group – Tax Whiz Academy, represented by the Philippine Tax Whiz Mon Abrea, was invited by Thomson Reuters and Asian Legal Business for the inaugural Philippine Corporate Compliance Forum at the Makati Diamond Residences, Makati City. The event aimed to provide regulatory updates and practical tips to help in-house and general counsels drive change and minimize legal vulnerability in this higher risk environment.
Abrea presented the overview of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law and the ongoing efforts of the Bureau of Internal Revenue to improve its administrative processes to the audience composed of more than a hundred legal counsels, compliance officers, lawyers, and other C-level executives. He also mentioned that now that TRAIN 1 is currently being implemented and with TRAIN 2 (lowering of corporate income tax and rationalization of fiscal incentives) underway, companies need to be more compliant most especially when it comes to paying the right taxes.

Paying the right taxes is not necessarily paying more taxes.

In our social enterprise, we consider Citizen Tax Planning (CTP) as a game-changing strategy to help taxpayers pay the right taxes without the burden of unnecessary penalties and compromises. It’s an investment to help individuals and corporations save millions of taxes from unplanned tax compliance resulting to higher tax assessments with more than 200% penalties during BIR audit, while helping in nation building by paying the right taxes.
